Description

Ribolla Gialla BBK 2016 Lis Neris

Variety: Ribolla Gialla 100%

The grapes are cultivated and therefore harvested in vineyards located in three small towns just across the border in Slovenia: Barbana, Biljana, Kozana. Alvaro Pecorari, not having his own vineyards with Ribolla Gialla, has looked beyond a border, exclusively political, to the vineyards where they have always cultivated, with great results, the Rebula, or Ribolla Gialla.
Soil: it is of a Eocene Flysch nature. The vineyards are located at 165 meters above sea level. The vines have an average age of over 20 years.

Training system: it is double overturned Guyot and the planting layout includes 5,200 – 3,700 plants per hectare.
Production: it is from 50 to 55 hectoliters per hectare
The harvest took place in September 2016 and was conducted manually with careful selection of the grapes.
Alcoholic fermentation was carried out in stainless steel containers at a controlled temperature of 20-22 ° C.

The refinement took place in the same fermentation containers on the fine deposit for 8 months, with frequent bâtonnage. After bottling and a short aging in the bottle, it arrives on the market.

Straw yellow color

The nose has clear aromas of white flowers, citrus fruits and fresh fruit. Rotating the glass also distinguishes some traits of marine sensations.

On the palate it has splendid hardness to punctuate the whole, with clearly perceptible minerality and acidity. Overall it is a fresh and very pleasant wine. Persistent.

Excellent companion for carefree aperitifs, spelled salads and barley with zucchini, tomatoes, tropea onions and fresh oregano. Try it with thin borage, onion, nutmeg and marjoram omelettes.

The wines are produced exclusively with grapes coming from the vineyards of the property and from some vines grown directly in the Slovenian territory. In the vineyard the fight against pests is conducted with biological systems, and the vast majority of operations are carried out manually.

The company can boast a control of carbon dioxide emissions, and in terms of energy uses solar energy captured and transformed by its own photovoltaic systems, resulting completely self-sufficient.
