Description
Hautes Cotes de Nuits Chardonnay Vielle Vigne 2020 Domaine Cruchandeau
Variety: 100% Chardonnay
Reasoned agriculture, that is, without the use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers.
Intense straw yellow color.
The nose is intense, deep, clean and classy. Without a doubt Chardonnay, he says it clearly, with aromas of citrus, lemon and bergamot, then apple, bananas and pineapple. Spices burst with vanilla and cinnamon and subtle notes recall camellia flowers and daisy. Dried fruit, notes of cream caramel and toasted, anticipate the wild resin and aromatic herbs.
On the palate it is voluminous and material, driven by a truly enviable creaminess. On the other hand, the structure of the hardness is severe and careful to lengthen the sip pleasantly. The dialogue between minerality and acidity supports so much vigor of the softness, so as to make it deep and complex. Aromas of spices, fresh fruit and flowers arrive on the palate.
On the whole of the three aspects Julien Cruchandeau designs an excellent Chardonnay, with the advantage of not only being good, but also to excite. Fully attributable to the grape variety and especially to the region of origin. Tasted blind it does not leave you uncertain: it is Burgundy!

The grapes come from an over 50 year old vineyard, next to Nuits-St-Georges, with an altitude of 380 meters above sea level, while the sun is exposed to the South South – West.
The soil is mainly composed of white marl and clay. White marl is a compact stratification of clay, calcium carbonate and marine fossils, where the majority percentage is limestone.
After the harvest, carried out manually in 20 kg perforated boxes with selection of the bunches, it carries out the cold maceration for 24 hours. After pressing, alcoholic fermentation follows, half of the mass in cask and the rest in vats.
Half of the mass is aged in oak barrels and the rest in stainless steel tanks for a period of 10 months.
