Description
Friuli Pinot Grigio 2020 di Lenardo
Variety: Pinot Grigio 100%
di Lenardo cultivates the grapes in the area of the Grave plain, therefore the soil is clayey with a significant presence of gravel.
The training system is espalier with lateral Guyot pruning.
Harvest: is conducted during the month of September.
The grape yield per hectare is approximately 100 quintals.
The grapes, as soon as they reach the cellar, are softly pressed in a nitrogen-saturated vacuum environment. Care is taken not to crush the pips, thus avoiding to extract the bitter taste.
Then the must is transferred into stainless steel containers at a controlled temperature of 15 degrees. With the addition of selected yeasts, alcoholic fermentation begins.
Once the tumultuous phase is over, the wine remains in the same containers to mature in contact with the yeasts until the spring following the harvest. In this period there are frequent bâtonnage.
After bottling, the bottles are left to rest for another two months before release.

Straw yellow color
The nose has elegant aromas of fresh fruit typical of the vine, with yellow peach, apricot, banana and williams pear. Follows a set of flowers with gentle scents.
On the palate it has good volume and a similar structure. Acidity and vivid minerality greatly help the pleasure in drinking it. In the back smell aromas of quince and pear arrive.
Overall it is a good white Pinot Grigio wine, perfectly adherent to the area of origin. The ratio of quality to price is excellent.
Accompanies casually appetizers, both fish and vegetables. Sea bream tartare with avocado brunoise and passion fruit oil, and marinara mussels. Try it with scrambled eggs and leeks. Valuable with cow’s milk cheeses, such as Parmigiano Reggiano and with sheep’s cheeses such as Roquefort.
