Description
Alto Adige Gewürztraminer Graf 2018 Merano
Variety: Gewürztraminer 100%
Straw yellow color.
The nose has classic head aromas, tending to exotic fruits and flowers: the litchis for the former and the white rose petals for the latter. Whirling the glass, passion fruit and mango also arrive. Among the flowers we also hear the pink rose, lemon balm, elderberry. Remaining in the semantic field of plants we also have greener notes of mint and tea leaves.
On the palate it is conspicuous and voluminous, by virtue of rich and sumptuous softness. In fact the heat of the alcoholic grade, the glycerines, which bring extreme creaminess and a slight residual sugar are singers worthy of their fame. However, minerality and adequate acidity elegantly contrast the natural inclination of wine to softness. After swallowing aromas of exotic fruit, flowers and gentle spices arrive at the nose.

Produced with grapes harvested in the municipalities of Lagundo, Tyrol, Labers and Lana. The soils are different, depending on the vineyards: they have light and permeable soils of morainic origin, porous soils derived, sandy and with a large percentage of gravel. The vines have different ages, ranging from 10 to 15 years.
After the harvest they proceed with a cold maceration of the whole berries for 12 hours. After that time, fermentation begins in stainless steel containers.
It refines for 6 months in the same steel containers on yeast residues.
Happily accompanies various dishes of oriental origin, of North African tradition, and of Cajun cuisine, where spices, such as cumin, turmeric, fennel, paprika, chilli, pepper, garlic and onion, dominate.
