Ruby red
On the nose it is pure class. It highlights hints of dark berries, in particular blackberry, and the undergrowth where they grow spontaneously. Hints of different spices, black pepper among them, then tobacco and aromatic herbs towards the end. Adds value to the variety of perfumes, including their cleanliness and sharpness. Overall an excellent olfactory prospect.
In the mouth it stands out for its balance, with which the various elements fit together lightly. Excellent acidity and minerality, with a present but barely hinted tannin. For the softness, we observe a good heat, but above all an excellent volume and creaminess. From the palate go back to the nasal receptors, aromas of ripe fruit, blueberries and mint.
Valpolicella Classico Superiore of class and elegance. Perfect to drink now, although it still has room for growth.
Venetian red wine capable of distinguishing itself for elegance and finesse. It is an extremely effective accompaniment to dishes of braised meats and roasts with polenta. Even feathered game, such as larded thrushes.
Valpolicella Classico Superiore Il Bigio 2016 Coali
Tenuta Coali cultivates the varieties that make up the Valpolicella Classico Superiore in different vineyards located in the heart of the most highly suited area, in Sant’Ambrogio in Valpolicella in the province of Verona.
The vineyards are located at an average altitude of about 300 meters above sea level, on calcareous and clayey soils, with excellent water drainage capacity.
Training system: against espalier with guyot pruning.
The harvest is carried out manually towards the end of September, with a slight drying in the fruit cellar.
As soon as they reach the cellar, the grapes are rasped and crushed to carry out the alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel containers. After the alcoholic fermentation, the wine ages in large oak barrels for at least 48 months, and a further 6 months in the bottle
