Description
Hautes Cotes de Nuits Pinot Noir Les Valancons 2018 Domaine Cruchandeau
Variety: 100% Pinot Noir
Reasoned agriculture
The grapes are grown a few kilometers from Nuits Saint Georges, in the homonymous vineyard. The hill in that part is particularly steep with an altitude of 380 meters above sea level. Sun exposure: south, south west.
The soil is mainly calcareous and clayey, with very little soil before the rocks.
After the harvest, carried out manually, the stalks are removed for a percentage that varies from 50% to 100% according to the different vintages. Macerates on the skins at controlled temperature for 10 days, with repeated pumping over of the must on the top of the marc .
Aged for 15 months in 20% new barriques
Hautes Cotes de Nuits Pinot Noir Les Valancons 2018 Domaine Cruchandeau
Ruby red color.
The nose has superior quality aromas, with small berry facets of berries, red and black currants, (grown in France under the name Cassis). Traces of raspberry open the way to rose petals, which slide towards woody vegetal notes and aromatic herbs, to go back to tobacco and vanilla.
Palate supported by a beautiful range of hardness, with the creaminess of the material to give volume and consequently balance. Also specify the tannins, for a burgundy ready to drink, but which has significant propensities to improve over time. Aromas of pomegranate and spices re-emerge on the nose.
On the whole of the three aspects Julien Cruchandeau designs an excellent Pinot Noir, classic, refined and admirable. Perfectly attributable to the territory of origin, and above all to the variety of belonging.
