Description
Friuli Colli Orientali Cabernet Franc 2017 Irene Cencig
Variety: Cabernet Franc 100%
Irene Cencig cultivates the vineyards geographically and administratively located in the Spessa hamlet of the municipality of Cividale del Friuli. The farm dates back to 1963, but if in the beginning it cultivated something else, from 1970 it changed its perspective and dedicated itself to the cultivation of Tocai. Just after the start of the new millennium, to be precise in 2001, Irene converts all agricultural production according to the principles of organic farming.
The next project that will be completed will be the first bottles of ribolla gialla and refosco dalla peduncolo rosso. The two autochthonous Friulian native vines planted a few years ago and from the next late spring on the market.
Friuli Colli Orientali Cabernet Franc 2017 Irene Cencig
Ruby red color.
The nose has intense aromas, very well defined and varied. They range from berries, with blackberry and black currant, to notes of pepper, but not the pungent green, but the sweetness of yellow. Followed by tobacco, cocoa, and some spices. Offering perfumes of different classes and types, it gains more respect and consideration.
It is complete on the palate. Here is complete. Balanced and in harmony, it has defined hardness and conspicuous creaminess. It persists when swallowed, when it releases aromas of blueberry, thyme and chocolate.
Excellent wine to drink now, but with great growth prospects for another five, seven years.
Cabernet Franc not only representative of the territory and of the variety of belonging, but thanks to the clean and classy scents, and to an exciting palate, it crosses the borders, to compete with the best of Italy. Give him another two years, and it will be a 94 point wine.
Even for him the relationship between quality and price is super advantageous.
