Bourgogne Pinot Noir Cuvée Gravel 2016 Maréchal Catherine and Claude
Ruby red color, with garnet shadows.
The nose has splendid aromas of red currants, raspberries and pomegranate grains. By turning the glass, the sensations of the undergrowth also arrive. Some spices begin to appear, suggesting the beginning of the evolution of secondary aromas, that is, of fermentation, towards the tertiaries, that is of aging.
On the palate, despite being a generic Burgundy, it clearly highlights the brand of the area. Good structure, and together with the texture of softness, they draw a very nice picture. Once swallowed, aromas of berries and iron reach the nasal receptors.
As a whole it is a large little Burgundy. With the rapid escalation of the prices of the wines of the area, which in a few years have doubled, this Pinot Noir is a champion of value for money, to understand the great potential of this fabulous region.
It elegantly accompanies cold cuts, pork tenderloin marinated with aromatic herbs, cooked in a pan and served with red wine reduction and flakes of Sogliano al Rubicone fossa cheese. Rabbit with red wine, shallots, Taggiasca olives and thyme. Grilled lamb chops. Vegetable couscous with North African spices.
