Description
Bergamasca Patrizio 2015 Eligio Magri
Variety: Merlot 60% and Cabernet Sauvignon 40%
Grapes come from vineyards located in the municipality of Torre de Roveri. The soil is composed of a medium-textured clay, brown-red in color, with a substratum of gray marl mixed with sand.
Grapes are harvested late, with a substantial drying in the plant. Mass that has just arrived in the cellar is pushed away and pressed, then in stainless steel containers with the temperature control, the fermentation starts.
Refines in barriques and French and American oak barrels for 12 to 15 months. The percentage of new wood is 80%. Possible clarification, small filtration and bottled where it remains for another 12/15 months at least.
Bergamasca Patrizio 2015 Eligio Magri
Intense ruby red color
On the nose it is intense and complex. It has aromas of cherry jam, black cherries and raspberries. The bark of the forest trees, the moss and the green pepper are the green notes. Spices are shown with juniper berries, cinnamon and vanilla honeycomb. Dark chocolate and coffee are fragrances due to roasting. Round and variegated, the perfumes give it a broad prospect and an excellent evaluation as a whole.
On the palate it is of great substance. The softness, due to a very late harvest, are in great evidence, with poly-alcohols and alcohol content, to give creaminess and pseudo-heat. However, the texture of the tannins is well interwoven and the minerality lines them with excellent results. The finish is very persistent
Bergamasco red wine, of power and charm. Made differently, because withered in the plant and not in the fruit stand. Produced from different grapes, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, against Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, Molinara, Oseleta, classics of Valpolicella and Nebbiolo della Valtellina, however, in many aspects, recalls Amaroni and Sforzati. A great wine.
A plaud to the Magri family, all lovingly committed, to the production of their wines.
