Soil: the conformation of the soil is defined as the formation of Lequio, created about 10 million years ago in the Tortonian era. In San Sebastiano the terrain is similar to that of San Luigi. with stratifications of clay, sand, marine fossils, which by compressing give rise to light marls. The soil can be, in its two extremes, either clayey or calcareous. Going down the percentage of the first salt that of the second create different types of Marne. When they tend to red, the presence of clay is higher than that of calcium carbonate.

Barbera d’Alba San Sebastiano 2018 Quinto Chionetti
Intense ruby red with violet reflections.
The nose is endowed with clean, very well defined and fine quality perfumes. The head aromas are of ripe fruit and flowers. Follow more complex traits of spices, roots and hints of vegetables. The prospect is truly remarkable, for an evaluation that goes well beyond the average level of Barbera in that price range.
On the palate it does not hide the origin of the variety, with the freshness brought by the acidity that shines with its own light. Minerality is adequate, while the Tannins are just mentioned. Find the balance with the creaminess expressed by the glycerines and the warmth of the alcohol content. Once left the mouth, aromas of fruit and spices arrive to the nose.
Overall, Chionetti gives us an excellent Barbera, capable of moving, identifying the grape variety and the territory of origin
