Description
Barbaresco Rabajà 2018 Bruno Rocca
Variety: Nebbiolo 100%
The color is intense garnet red.
The nose shows character and elegance with aromas of red berries, raspberry and currant and cherry. Followed by flowers with violet and sweet spices such as cinnamon and nutmeg. Also leather and cigar tobacco. Overall certainly excellent.
On the palate it is excellent, so as to easily achieve balance and harmony. The good presence of sugar alcohols enhances the softness, offsetting the endemic tannins in the area and young age. The heat expressed by the alcohol content does the rest.
Overall, it fully represents Rabajà’s Classico Barbaresco, or rather I would say that Bruno Rocca‘s is the Rabajà Barbaresco par excellence. The finish is long and persistent, with aromas of cinchona, rhubarb, violet and spices.
Very good now, with a few years it will become exceptional.
Barbaresco Rabajà 2018 Bruno Rocca
Rabajà is the first vineyard purchased by the grandparents Francesco Rocca and Bo Maria Adelaide in the distant 1958. Next to it is the farmhouse, with the cellar where the Rocca have lived and produced their wonderful wines ever since. Not only romantically, but also logistically, it is their best vineyard, because its proximity allows it to be cared for with extreme attention.
After the harvest, carried out manually and with careful selection of the berries, it ferments in stainless steel containers for 25-30 days.
Refine for one year in oak barrels and for the same period in large barrels.
