Intense ruby red color.
The nose has persuasive aromas of dark berries, blackberry and cassis. Red plum, followed by sweet vegetable, carob and spice notes, with vanilla and panna cotta. In conclusion, there are also latent ferrous notes, which can be framed in the blood ones. Intense, well-distributed and quality, the perfumes entice the taste.
On the palate it has a voluminous and round sip, with the texture of the tannins, present but not pungent and the vivid freshness to keep it in balance. Good presence of minerality, committed to prolonging its persistence. From the oral cavity aromas of blackberry and vanilla.
Overall, Reguta offers an excellent Pignolo, which among the Friulian reds of this price range, wins a place at the top.
Trevenezie Pignolo 2018 Reguta
Reguta boasts 250 hectares of vineyards in Pocenia, halfway between Latisana and Palmanova and 5 kilometers from the Adriatic sea. The proximity to the sea allows currents of hot air, which, blowing between the rows, take away excess humidity, limiting the favorable conditions of downy mildew.
Soil: clay soil with plenty of sand and mineral salts.
The training system is espalier with guyot pruning.
After the harvest, it carries out alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel containers at controlled temperatures. Refines in the same containers for part of the mass, and in oak barrels used the remaining, for at least 12 months. After assembly, it remains in the tank for another 4 months and following filtration it goes into the bottle and after another month on the market.
