Straw yellow color tending to gold.
The nose is intense and of the highest quality. It has clear and caressing aromas of exotic fruit, with banana, pineapple and papaya. There is no shortage of spices with vanilla and nutmeg. Ideas of dried fruit, chestnut honey, panna cotta make the closure persuasive. Intense and complex, the aromas are precise and inviting.
On the palate it relaxes with great presence, between acidity and minerality. Peculiarity that gives it eclecticism in combinations with food. The softness is expressed with creaminess and excellent volume of the sip. Basically it is pleasantly balanced, and remarkably persistent. Releases aromas of fruit and vanilla.
Tiefenbrunner produces this excellent Alto Atesino Chardonnay, capable of distinguishing itself for its extreme balance and depth.
Alto Adige Chardonnay AU 2015 Tiefenbrunner
The grapes come from a single vineyard called AU. Located in the hamlet of Niclara, in the municipality of Cortaccia on the wine road.
Altitude and extension: it varies from 260 to 320 meters above sea level, while the vineyard extends for 1 hectare.
The soil is made up of calcareous gravel from moraine sediments, with a notable presence of clay, limestone salt minerals.
Two types of training, espalier with guyot pruning and pergola. Density varies from 3,500 to 8,000 plants per hectare. The oldest plants are from 1967.
The yield per hectare is 35/45 hectoliters.
After fermentation in small wooden barrels, it matures for a year on the lees with regular ‘batonnage’. Once poured into stainless steel containers, it remains there for another 6 months in order to naturally clarify it. After bottling it remains in the cellar for another twelve months.
