Description
Toscana Rosso Poggio alle Viole 2016 Col Di Bacche
Sangiovese 100%
Pale ruby red
The nose is sumptuous in defining itself with class and power. Once the rusticity of Sangiovese has been tamed, its heart and soul remain. Thus we can smell the aromas of undergrowth and both small and stem fruits. Cherry, red currant and blackberry precede a beautiful bouquet of flowers. Sweet and spicy spices and ideas of toasted, leather and the ash of the extinguished fireplace do not hesitate. Also in this vintage it deserves praise.
At the mouth is statuary, with a structure capable of supporting a volume of presence. The result is harmony and balance, for a succession of enveloping and engaging sensations. The finish is persistent and classy, where spices, leather and fresh fruit return.
SuperTuscan of great thickness and class, Col di Bacche presents us with a different interpretation of Sangiovese, from southern Tuscany, and in lands that are affected by the proximity to the sea.
