Description
Sforzato di Valtellina Ronco del Picchio 2018 Sandro Fay
Variety: Chiavennasca (Nebbiolo) 100%
Pale ruby red with intense garnet veins
The nose is very intense, well defined and of excellent quality. The aromas emerge in succession, with fascinating notes of aromatic herbs, such as thyme and mint. Withered flowers, plum jam, and spices are clear examples. Not just intensity, then, but just as much class. It leaves no doubt about the quality and provenance.
On the palate it is certainly powerful and voluminous, but also grandly structured. The altitude and the selection of the best plants, grant an excellent texture of tannins, and adequate freshness, so the wine is balanced and in harmony. The memory it leaves is very persistent, embellished with aromas of aromatic herbs, jam and spices.
One of the best sforzati, like all Fay wines it stands out for its class and elegance. It turns out a great interpretation of Nebbiolo della Valtellina.
