Description
Chafandin 2016 Jaro
Variety: 100% Tempranillo
Ruby red color
The nose is fascinating from the beginning, with aromas of Mediterranean scrub, undergrowth and fresh fruit. Notes of graphite, iodized sensations, pepper, and leather further reward it. The range is well distributed, as is cleanliness and class.
On the palate the structure of hardness is highlighted, with minerality to excel. The whole is precise in its interlocking of the individual parts, for a very well painted picture. Overall it is creamy and deep, with aromas of wild berries, thyme, rosemary and flowers.
Excellent example of Catalan wine with an excellent quality / price ratio. Perfect for getting to know the potential of Spanish wine and the Costers del Priorat wines.
Interpretation of typical Sardinian blends, Cannonau and Carignano on the other side of the Mediterranean.
Priorat Pissarres 2017 Costers del Priorat
The grapes that go to create Pissarres are selected in the Sant Martì and Mas Alsera vineyards.
After the harvest, it ferments in stainless steel containers at a controlled temperature and part of it in concrete containers.
The two varieties are vinified and aged separately.
Refine in 225 and 500 liter oak barrels for 12 months.
Costers del Priorat cultivates the vineyards in three different locations: Sant Martì, Mas Alsera and Les Solanes, which
found respectively in the villages of Bellmunt del Priorat, Torroja del Priorat and El Molar.
In the Finca Sant Martì, the vineyards are cultivated with a considerable slope and range from 300 to 375 meters above sea level. Here the vines are old.
Mas Alsera is surrounded by olive and almond trees, and by an impressive amphitheater of vineyards and holm oaks, protected from the cold north winds by the nearby mountain of Montsant. The vineyards are located at an altitude between 240 and 350 meters above sea level. The oldest plants date back to 1939
Les Solanes is located on the southern edge of the Priorat DOQ. The terraced vineyards are the ones most exposed to the sun in an ideal context for producing high quality grapes. The vines are aged between 10 and 60 years.
