Saint Veran Les Cornillaux 2017 Domaine Chardigny
Intense straw yellow color with golden reflections.
The nose has intense and fine fruit aromas, from traditional to exotic. Followed by notes of medium intensity flowers and sweet spices. So we can list the yellow peach, mango, camellia, citrus peel, vanilla, nutmeg and hints of face powder. Overall, the olfactory prospect is highly respected, both in intensity and in quality.
On the palate it is perfectly recognizable as a Burgundy chardonnay. Creamy and structured, it manages to wrap the palate with grace and elegance. Excellent softness, supported by a well-defined structure of acidity and minerality. The calcareous soil gives the wine extreme wealth, so as to be rich and creamy, structured and drinkable at the same time. The finish leads us to perceive aromas of broom flowers, vanilla and caramel.
Overall it is a very thick Burgundy, already excellent if tasted at a young age, however, capable of aging long over time. It leaves no doubt to the taster, even non-expert, to find us in front of a Burgundy Chardonnay.
The Domaine Chardigny honors the whole appellation by offering us healthy and high quality wines.
