Barbera d’Alba 2017 Antica Cascina dei Conti di Roero
Intense ruby red with purple shadows.
The nose has aromas of fresh fruit, such as cherry, and beautifully plum. Among those in the woods, blackberries. Also traces of aromatic herbs and sweet spices. Vanilla excels, but with grace and confidentiality. Overall, the set of scents is varied and definitely above the purchase price.
On the palate it has a cheerful entrance, a tasty stay, and an inviting finish, both in tasting it, as in wanting another glass. Endemically fresh, for an intrinsic acidity of the Barbera variety, the warm vintage has developed surprising softness. From the mouth, aromas of bilberry and gentle spices flow up to the nasal receptors.
Balanced and thick, it is an excellent Barbera from the sandy area of Roero.
Thanks to its freshness, it effectively accompanies an infinity of dishes, both traditional and oriental, Caribbean and avant-garde.
