Description
Moscato d’Asti 2018 Alessandro Motta
Variety: Moscato Bianco 100%
Pale straw yellow color with green reflections.
The nose has fragrant aromas of citrus, white peach, grape itself and sage. Even some notes reminiscent of honey and dried fruit increase the richness of a very pleasant bouquet.
On the palate it is obviously sweet, but due to a very present acidity, not laid on the residual sugars. Inviting in the sip, happily accompanies many sweets. From classic panettone, to shortbread biscuits, and to all dry pastries.
Really excellent example of Moscato d’Asti, with a crunchy and satisfying fruit. Very interesting and not risky are the combinations with raw fish dishes and spicy foods typical of Indian cuisine.
Moscato d’Asti 2018 Alessandro Motta
Produced from a single vineyard in the municipality of Castel Rocchero in the province of Asti. The vineyards were planted in 1980, 1992 and 1996. In the spectacular amphitheater where the vines live, the Muscat is planted in the westernmost part and in the lower part, on the border with the hazelnut grove. The orientation of the vineyard is to the south east, south and south west. The altitude is from 300 to 350 meters s.l.m .. The soil is loamy clay, with sandy veins. The training system is a counter espalier with guyot pruning.
The harvest is carried out manually, and the grapes are collected in boxes of 20 kg each. Maceration is carried out with the skins for a few hours at a low temperature in a horizontal press, then gently pressed. Temperature controlled fermentation in steel containers. When the must reaches 5.50% Vol the fermentation stops and the temperature is reduced. We proceed with the stabilization, the sterile micro-filtration, in order to eliminate every yeast and subsequent bottling.
Moscato d’Asti is a sweet wine which, not undergoing sparkling by means of autoclave with the Martinotti method, is not a sparkling wine, consequently its sparkling wine is natural and therefore of less perception.
