Variety: Nebbiolo 100%
Barolo from a single vineyard, the Boscareto in the municipality of Serralunga d’Alba. The age of the vineyard exceeds 40 years.
It is made in a very traditional way. It is not destemmed, and is pressed in open vats with the feet, therefore without the use of presses or presses. For fermentation they use indigenous yeasts and do not add sulfur dioxide. The maceration lasts from 40 to 90 days, depending on the characteristics of the grapes of each vintage. It ages in 40 Hectolitre oak barrels for 36 months and at least another 12 months in the bottle.

Red grenade unloaded.
The nose has clear and precise head aromas of ripe red fruits, both small berries, and also those from the trunk such as plum and black cherry. Whirling the wine in the glass, we perceive the flowers and more complex notes of undergrowth, roots and bark: rhubarb and china for example. Aromatic herbs and sweet spices follow.
On the palate it has very great shape and a similar substance. The dialogue between hardness and softness gives us a balanced wine, where acidity, minerality and astringency, are the poets of a punctual but not excessive form. On the other hand, the softness, with alcohol content, sugar alcohols and a slight residual sugar take care of the substance, so as to have a thick wine in its ancient way. When swallowing it, aromas of fruit and spices rise to the nose. It comes out of the schemes of many wines due to its unique interpretation.
The Barolo Boscareto of Principiano Ferdinando is an exciting Barolo, and a wine as a whole to drink at least once in your life … and not just one.
