Description
Brunello di Montalcino Sugarille 2010 Pieve della Santa Restituita
Sangiovese 100%
According to the Pieve di Santa Restituita archives, the Sugarille site was already dedicated to the cultivation of grapes for wine from the mid-16th century (1541). The name Sugarille derives from the Latin suber (cork in Italian), which means cork oak, perhaps because cork trees were found there. Sugarille, has white and rocky lands (poor in nutrients and rich in limestone clays), excellent drainage, south-west exposure, and the winds blowing from the Tyrrhenian Sea to the west create the ideal conditions for a long life.
Brunello di Montalcino Sugarille 2010 Pieve della Santa Restituita
Definitely underestimated by industry critics, Brunello di Montalcino Rennina and Sugarille are two splendid examples of Elegant Brunelli.
For endemic belonging to that category of people who consider their judgment much more important than that of others, Angelo Gaja has never fallen into the temptation to upset Brunello di Montalcino so that the Americans like it. His judgment is much more severe.
That’s why, among the Tuscan red wines, his are always ELEGANT.
